What was your personal favorite WIM memory?

My personal favorite WiM memory would be when I brought a friend from one of my math classes to a WiM general meeting, and them texting me afterwards that they’d been looking for a club on campus just like WiM for so long :’)

Favorite handwriting font: I don’t really like handwriting fonts TT^TT but my favorite fonts to use recently have been shrikhand, montserrat, and p22 mackinac pro

The coolest fact I’ve learned (by accident) was that the guy that changed the whole field of abstract algebra did it all in one night, allegedly, before he died in a duel the next day for love, also allegedly

I think it was just meeting everyone and helping create a space that’s inclusive and supportive for all under-represented minorities in Math. We’re all here to see each other succeed and to help all Wim members shatter glass ceilings

The mathematical Paul Erdos collaborated with so many people that published with so many people that published mathematicians are assigned an “Erdos number” based on their degrees of separation to Erdos (in terms of coauthorship of papers).

I look forward to getting to know everyone and playing some math games.

It was life changing when I learned that the formula for rotation in the coordinate plane could be understood with the imaginary plane. It made me feel so powerful.

One time a bunch of people walked me home the complete wrong direction after a meeting to make sure I got home safe.

What was your personal favorite WIM memory?

Since I am a transfer student and this is my first year as part of WiM, I would say that my favorite memory of WiM was when I met the group during a club fair. They were all so enthusiastic and kind, so here I am wanting to be a part of that community.
